The Hornsby Railway Hotel was built in 1888 by Martin Haydon who in those early colonial days catered for the Hornsby community and travelers alike with a “home away from home” character that reflected the traditional food and beverage of the time.

Not much has changed except today Hornsby has grown into a cosmopolitan city of it's own and with it has come a diverse population from international, interstate tourist and travelers to the senior corporate executive and the locals who all contribute to the present day character of this social and modern Hotel.

The Hotel was renovated in 2007 to encompass a growing demand for comfort and sophistication. The architects were given creative license which can be seen through out the Hotel but the biggest impact was in the addition of a restaurant that displays a masterpiece in modern restaurant design. Thing have changed dramatically since those early days; the Hotel still focuses on quality and a warm friendly atmosphere and provides a relaxed ambience. From the highest expectations of our restaurant guest to the energy driven Zen Night club our efforts to meet your highest expectations are our greatest achievement.

Having a birthday or special event? We cater for most functions from hiring out your own night club to corporate presentations; we can deliver on your highest expectations and can work with all budgets. Our facilities include sound, lighting and audio visual equipment and of course catering for your food.

Bars

Sports Bar

The Sports bar has the facilities to cater for all sporting interest, it has a private courtyard with tables and chairs, a modern TAB, flat screen televisions to watch the Rugby Union, Rugby League, AFL, Soccer and Cricket to name a few. There has never been this much attention to comfortable and ease, to be able to relax and watch your favourite sport while enjoying a drink with friends. The atmosphere on game days and nights is electric and sometimes just as entertaining as the game you're here to watch, even if you are just wanting to punt, the TAB is self contained, easy to use and has all the comforts you would expect. When the games are not on, a relaxed friendly atmosphere is cultivated by locals and staff. You could join the footy tipping competition or the punters club or just come in to enjoy some of the best priced drinks and pub food in the district.

The Sports bar is open Monday to Saturday from 9am and Sundays from 10am.

Lounge Bar

The Lounge Bar is relaxed with its own LCD television showing sports and music channels. The Hotels main courtyard is located within easy access to the lounge bar and it is a favourite on Friday and Saturday nights when the Zen Night Club is in full swing. Comfortable modern seating and tables provide a relaxed environment to get together with friends and enjoy a great cocktail. We have a large selection of premium local and imported beers, not to mention spirits from 18 year old single malt scotches to some of the best Bourbons, Vodkas and Tequilas. The lounge Bar is everything a relaxed lounge bar should be, we aim to please the most discerning individuals.

The Lounge Bar is open Monday to Thursday 10am to 4am

Friday and Saturday 10am to 6am

Sunday 10am to 12 midnight

Bottle Shop

The Hotels retail arm is the Junction Bottle Shop, a boutique outlet that is a member of the Pubmart family offering their advertised specials and some of our own special discounts.

Come and see us for any large orders, we can generally negotiate a competitive price on all your bulk order needs.

Zen Night Club

The Zen has been a tradition in the Hornsby district for decades and today the legacy continues with some of the best DJ,s in Sydney playing the latest top 100 hits including the latest dance styles and retro classics and of course your favorite requests. Dance till the sun comes up under our massive sound and light system, or take a break in our Courtyard or Lounge Bar.

The Zen Night Club is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm to 5am

Restaurant

Rails Restaurant Hornsby is one of the finest in the district. The chef consistently delivers on quality, service and price. The fully licensed restaurant was designed to reflect a sophisticated ambience with a menu that specializes in modern Australian cuisine with International influences that are always fresh and in season.

The Hotel has a number of rooms available that are “pub style” budget accommodation. We are across the road from Hornsby Railway Station, with Westfield Shopping Centre, the Hornsby Business District and Hornsby Hospital all in easy walking distance.
